Pond Re-opening?

It appears the pond is ready to be reopened, but we have asked P&R to test it one more time before the gates are unlocked, just to be certain.
The scum on top of the pond is harmless duckweed (the brownish-reddish patches is just decaying duckweed); The water is clear, with none of the telltale greenish color that denotes the presence of the blue green algae.

Orphan Poops

We need help with orphan poops................

We have a cadre of folks who routinely pick up orphan poops they find, but it is becoming more difficult to keep up. If you want to do something that really benefits the park, take a few extra bags and pick up anything you encounter.

There's a lot of nasty stuff in dog feces, and the run off will pollute not only the ponds at BC, but it ultimately ends of in the Mississippi (believe it or not).

Note: Yes, there are some folks who don't pick up after their dog (especially if no one else is around), BUT I think it's more common that your dog runs out of sight, poops, and you don't even know it. So I figure it's good karma to always take 4-5 bags with me and pick up any orphan poops I see.
